When I was feeling restless last year, I kept getting the image of a puppy in a carrier crate, whining and scratching, shaking the crate around. Then God told me this parable.
Does a wise man send the young pup on an important hunt? Indeed he does not for such a thing would be foolish. The pup would fail and could be lost or snatched up by a lion. The wise man first trains the pup and then sends him out on small hunts with an elder dog to guide. Then the young pup will learn and grow and soon lead new pups as he replaces the old.

3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. - Romans 5:3-5

And there she shall answer as in the days of her youth,
as at the time when she came out of the land of Egypt. - Hosea 2:14-15
