This is a three part series of reflections and summaries of this talk by Kim Walker-Smith.
Kim Walker Smith - Impatience & Fear
Kim Walker - Smith reminds us how love makes us do crazy things. It is no different with our love for Jesus. His perfect loves cast out all fear. Do we allow him to love us like that and love him that way back in return? All the struggles really are easier to face when you are in love. I know I've found myself being like the bride in the Song of Songs, responding to her love with frustration. "God I just got off work, I'm tired, and I have all these bills due." When we catch ourselves doing that we should respond the same way she did; get up and run after our first love.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. - 1 John 4:18
I slept, but my heart was awake.
A sound! My beloved is knocking.
“Open to me, my sister, my love,
my dove, my perfect one,
for my head is wet with dew,
my locks with the drops of the night.”
3 I had put off my garment;
how could I put it on?
I had bathed my feet;
how could I soil them? - Song of Solomon 5:2-3
