Things were really starting to feel settled when suddenly they weren't. I hate that feeling. I like knowing where I'm going to be and what I'm going to be doing.
But there are some benefits to the shifting sand. It reminds me that I don't know the future even when I think I do. It reminds me to hold loosely to worldly things and take a firm hold of God's hand. It teaches me to take it one day, and sometimes one hour, at a time.
Verses:Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. - James 4:13-17
"You shall fear the LORD your God; you shall serve Him and cling to Him, and you shall swear by His name. - Deuteronomy 10:20
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; - Hebrews 10:23
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. - Isaiah 55:8
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand - Proverbs 19:21
Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. - Psalm 139:4
