I've spent several nights (and several days) begging God to give me more signs that I've heard something he said correctly. I wanted another dream or vision or something. I felt like Gideon with his fleece. God asked me if I had another dream would I be satisfied and stopped having doubts. I replied honestly with, "probably not". I turned to the book of judges and found this note by the chapters about Gideon. It is a common thing I think for us. We want to do God's will but we worry we don't know what it is. I think the most important thing is to not let the fear paralyze us. I've also come to believe that God can and will correct our course if we happen to start going the wrong way, if our eyes and hearts are on his. He is also sweet and gracious. I did have a dream. Do I still have my moments of doubt? Yep.
the Lord appeared to him from far away.
I have loved you with an everlasting love;
therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.
4 Again I will build you, and you shall be built,
O virgin Israel!
Again you shall adorn yourself with tambourines
and shall go forth in the dance of the merrymakers. - Jeremiah 31:3 - 4
So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him. - Matt 7:11
For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. - Jer 29:11
